The Emergency Broadband Benefit
12/01/2021
You could receive a service that requires $50/month for broadband internet.
The Emergency Broadband Benefit is an FCC program to help families and households struggling to afford internet service during the Covid-19 Pandemic. This new benefit will connect eligible households to jobs, critical healthcare services, virtual classrooms, and so much more.
According to the FCC, "Households enrolled in the Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB) Program as of 12/31/21 will continued to receive their current monthly benefit during a 60-day transition period"
The EBB program will effectively end by Dec.31 and will transition to a more permanent subsidy of $30 dollars at a future point, as mandated in the Infrastructure Bill.
