TO BECOME A SUBSTITUTE

Schedule a Fingerprinting Appointment
  • The cost of fingerprinting is $20 and only cash is accepted. For questions about fingerprinting, reach out to Theda McDowell at 318-487-0888 with Human Resources.
  • Schedule the fingerprinting appointment HERE
  • LA Wallet is not honored as a form of identification. 
  • Two forms of identification are required; valid passports are accepted. 
3.
Applicant is added to the approved list for substitute teaching.
After a clear background check, the applicant is added to the “approved list” for substitute teaching.
4.
Attend a Mandatory Sub Safety Meeting
Sub Safety meetings will be held on the following dates, and the meetings will be held at Central Office. The meetings will take place within the Rapides Parish School Board Media Center located at 502 Beauregard St, Alexandria, LA 71306.

Begin substitute teaching!
Once you've completed the previous steps, you're able to begin Substitute Teaching!
