District Performance Score Highlights
LEAP 2026 Data Snapshot

The Louisiana Department of Education has released LEAP scores from the 2025-2026 school year.
These are the first LEAP results that will contribute to the performance scores under the state’s new accountability system: Grow. Achieve. Thrive. New school and district performance scores will be released later in the Fall.
This revised accountability system places greater emphasis on growth, Mastery level achievement, support for struggling students, and readiness for post-secondary opportunities. For the state, students scoring Mastery or Advanced (Mastery+) in grades 3-12 increased by two percentage points to 36%; the highest percentage on record.
For Rapides Parish, students scoring Mastery or Advanced (Mastery+) in grades 3-12 increased by two percentage points to 40%; the highest percentage on record.
“We continue to celebrate record breaking student achievement growth in Rapides Parish. Seeing a growth in overall proficiency and continuing to exceed average proficiency in the state is a testament to the hard work of our students, teachers, parents, school administrators and everyone else who supports the work of our students and teachers. The commitment of the Rapides Parish School Board members to align our policies and budgets with student achievement continues to yield positive outcomes,” Superintendent Jeff Powell says.
