To apply for any job at RPSB applicant must create account on alio applicant portal (https://rapides.applicantportal.com/)

To submit an application through the Applicant Portal, click on the link below and follow these steps.

  1. Go to https://rapides.applicantportal.com/ 
  2. Once you are in the applicant portal, select the “Job Search” tab.
  3. Select the Position you would like to apply for.
  4. Click the position again on the next screen.
  5. Click “Apply Now” (found on the right side of the page)
  6. Sign Up (create account)
  7. Create username and password. (Please write it down and put in a safe place. We cannot retrieve it for you.)
  8. Complete everything with a red mark and click “Submit” at the bottom.
  9. Go to the Resume Tab/ My documents & Letters. You must save you documents to your computer as a pdf, jpg, bmp, xls, doc, or txt. Then attach them to your Document and letters. If you don’t have a scanner, you can take a picture with your phone and send it to your email. Save the picture to your computer and upload the picture to your application. The public library can assist you, or you may call Human Resources for assistance.

Create only ONE online application. You can apply for other positions by simply clicking “Apply Now” and signing into your existing account.

Substitute Info

To become a substitute employee, you must:

1.  Attend a safety meeting each school year PRIOR to beginning employment. 

September 12, 2018 -  9:00 AM-12:00PM
October 10, 2018 - 9:00 AM-12:00PM
November 14, 2018 9:00 AM-12:00PM
January 16, 2019 - 9:00 AM-12:00PM
February 13, 2019 - 9:00 AM-12:00PM

2.  Be fingerprinted every 3 years. ***New substitutes will NOT be fingerprinted until after you have attended a safety meeting.  Volunteers will not be fingerprinted until after August 15, 2018.***

IMPORTANT NOTES:

*Subs are restricted to 18 working days per month.

*Pay scale - daily rate

     $50.75 - Secretary, paraprofessional, custodian, food service, teacher with high school diploma

     $53.20 - food service after working 420 consecutive hours

     $65.00 - teacher with a 4-year degree

     $125.00 - certified teacher

Certification Information

The best source for certification questions and forms is www.teachlouisiana.net. On the right side of the page, you will see a link to certification information. Select the "Certification Application" option to update your certificate, add certifications, etc. Employees complete these documents and bring to Peggy Brouillette for review and signature by the Director of Human Resources. You can track the status of your application once it reaches the state department by watching “Status of a Certification Application.” Applications take 2-4 weeks to process.

By selecting "Certification Home," you can find information about ways to become certified in Louisiana, out-of-state certification information, and PRAXIS/NTE requirements.

"Certification FAQs" cover many topics, including license renewal and changing your name on your certificate.

Human Resources can assist you with determining your retirement options. You must call to schedule an appointment. Please visit your retirement system’s website for more information.

Forms

 If you are resigning, complete a resignation form and exit interview. Submit to your principal or Human Resources.

Resignation and Exit Interview Form (must complete BOTH pages)

For use of extended sick leave, leave without pay, FMLA, or medical sabbatical, you must complete an Application for Leave. According to policy, if you are out more than 5 days, you must give your supervisor a doctor’s excuse. 

For leave requiring a physician’s statement, your doctor must complete this form. It must have SPECIFIC DATES.  You must submit this with original signatures to your principal/supervisor.
