Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED

STEP 1 - Apply for a Paraprofessional (teaching assistant) position with RPSB - HERE. 

STEP 2 - Be recommended for a Paraprofessional (teaching assistant) position

STEP 3 - Once hired into a Paraprofessional position, apply and begin working on a Bachelors degree via REACH University - HERE

STEP 4 - When a Bachelors degree with a 2.2 GPA or greater is earned, begin applying for teacher positions within Rapides Parish

STEP 1 - Register to take the exam HERE

**TIP - fastest local location to take the Parapro test has been proven to be at the Prometric Testing Center housed in the Student Center on the LSUA Campus - look for testing site CODE APCN-1313 - it will only show Alexandria, LA as the Test Center and will not say LSUA on the registration website

STEP 2 - Upload your passing score report (score of 450 or better) to your application online and email to the appropriate Principal AND Human Resources if you have already been recommended for a Paraprofessional position

STEP 1 - Determine which test(s) are required to be taken relative to the area of teacher certification you are working towards by looking HERE.

**TIP - Verify PRAXIS testing requirements with your Academic Advisor if you are enrolled in an Alternate Teaching Certification Program
