Technology Department

Mrs. Brandy Lawrence

To support the efficient and effective implementation of technology across all aspects of the school system.

  1. Goal 1: Provide schools with technology resources (equipment, program support, etc.) needed to support Tier I curriculum and increase success on state testing.

  2. Goal 2: Provide high-quality PD that will enable school personnel to fully utilize technology resources

  3. Goal 3: Monitor data systems and collections uploads to maintain an accurate database for student identification and district/school-level data.

For 2020-2021

  • Insure our SIS allows for efficient and effective progress monitoring of MTSS Data (Data Dashboard). What investment is needed? What PD is needed? What other barriers need to be addressed?

    • Assessment Data

    • Grades

    • Attendance

    • Discipline - all schools must use SIS

    • Bullying

    • Dating Violence/Sexual Harassment (state law)

  • Develop a true (K-12) Virtual Learning Program that increases enrollment in RPSB. Measured by a decrease in Rapides Parish residents enrolled in state charters. Remember, once they are enrolled with us, their achievement is tied to us. Their learning experiences must be successful as measured by student achievement.

    • Curriculum Platform

    • Instructional Process

    • Student/Family Engagement Requirements

    • MOU with online charters to check enrollment and MFP distribution

  • Leading our district to successful digital platforms/content that allows for the minimizing of loss instructional time in the event of student sickness, teacher absence, school closure, etc

    • Identification and implementation of the most economically and instructionally advantageous platforms

  • ERate - taking the lead, with CFO, in making sure RPSB is getting the absolute MAXIMUM benefit of ERate while moving to the most technologically advanced programming possible.

  • Instructional Technology Infrastructure:

    • Getting real data on exactly how many of our students have access to the internet at home. Where are the areas in our district that have higher incidence of no access? If their phone has a hotspot, don’t we consider that internet access?
