The Louisiana Legislative Statutes charge the Supervisor of Child Welfare and Attendance with the responsibility of assuring that every school-age child is in regular attendance and with the responsibilities of filing charges to enforce the Compulsory School Attendance Law when necessary.

Work permits are provided 3:00-4:00 Monday-Friday (Monday-Thursday during Summer) in the office of Child Welfare and Attendance. Students must bring a valid form of identification, and a legal guardian must be present.

 

 Hardship Application:

Parents requesting a hardship school transfer must come in to the Child Welfare and Attendance department to complete the application. After the Hardship Committee has met and reviewed all pertinent information, the parent will be informed whether the request has been upheld or denied by letter to the mailing address provided.
