Meet Our Assistant Principal
Amber Spurgeon

amberEducation has always been my passion, and my love for learning has not stopped in my 8 years as an educator. I am honored to serve as the Assistant Principal of L.S. Rugg Elementary where I will work endlessly to strengthen teaching and learning. Teamwork, collaboration and shared leadership are essential in building excellence. I believe by enthusiastically challenging myself and others, while building trusting relationships with faculty, students, and families this excellence will be achieved! The best is yet to come at L.S. Rugg Elementary! I am excited to work alongside our amazing leadership team, teachers and families to make our school a community for everyone! It is a joy to work daily with our faculty and parents to meet the learning needs of our students. L.S. Rugg Elementary will be a place where students achieve greatness and build character. I thank you in advance for your support this year!

Meet Our Master Teacher
Lauren Covey

l coveyI am honored to have experienced ten years of growing and learning in the field of education. In 2011, I received my Master of Arts in Teaching degree at Louisiana College. After 8 successful years as a classroom teacher, I became a part of the District’s support team as a Turnaround Specialist. I have been blessed to spend much of that time here at Rugg Elementary, the place I now consider home. I am currently serving in the role as Master Teacher, where I am committed to continuous growth for both our teachers and students. I look forward to a bright future and a successful school year!

Renisha Beaudoin

r beaudoinIt is with great honor and excitement that I introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal at the new Julius Patrick. My passion for education and supporting the success of all students has been shaped over the last 15 years. In each of my roles it has been my goal to provide my students with the best instructional and educational opportunities. The last 7 years of my professional experience includes teaching and leading 6th graders at Arthur F. Smith Middle Magnet School and Alma Redwine Elementary School. I understand that 6th grade is a very formative year academically as well as socially. Providing the students of Julius Patrick with the most well-rounded education possible is my top priority. Through the shared commitment of learning our highly qualified teachers and paraprofessionals, knowledgeable support staff, committed community leaders, involved parents, and determined students will ensure that excellent educational opportunities are achieved.

Meet Our Principal
Dr. Norvella Williams

n williamsWelcome to the 2018-2019 academic school year! It was with great anticipation that I entered into the genesis of this academic term. The talent and intellect that surround me pique my excitement. Julius Patrick is an amazing place for students to prepare for Junior High School. Moreover, it serves as a foundation whereby students can give birth to untapped potential. We continue the ongoing initiative to master the balance of academics and arts to meet the needs of our unique and outstanding student population. Our mission is to educate students for a world beyond the walls of our school.  It is my sincere belief that the foundation of our future accomplishments are embedded in the academic route that we create to form a true commitment to our students.
