As a chapter of the Louisiana Reading Association, our mission is to improve the quality of literacy for all through the study of best practices in literacy processes and instruction, the promotion of literacy research, and the dissemination of information related to literacy acquisition.
GOALS:

  1. To improve literacy content knowledge and instruction for Louisiana teachers through research-based best practices, literacy projects, and technology integration
  2. To retain and increase current membership numbers and membership participation at the local, state, and international levels
  3. To create and sustain viable partnerships with individuals and organizations who are interested in literacy advancement
  4. To advocate for policy that impacts strong research, standards, practices, and educational reform to support literacy instruction and student achievement
