Message from our Superintendent

Tauthement

As superintendent of schools, I’d like to welcome you to the start of the 2016-2017 school year. As we continue to meet the challenge of improving the quality of our school system, creating school and classroom environments that are conducive to learning is critical to our success. This can only be accomplished through an unwavering commitment to high expectations and standards for every child.

The district’s vision to ensure that all students are prepared for success in college and career requires that we have an effective teacher in every classroom and that students are actively engaged in learning. Also, with higher academic standards and the pace of daily classroom instruction, it is imperative that students are in attendance on a regular basis. This focus has led to unprecedented levels of improved academic achievement over the past three years.

For parents, we strongly encourage you to cultivate a cooperative relationship with the teacher(s) of your child/children, as we know that when parents are involved in the education of their children, the chance of success is significantly increased. By working together, we can create a future filled with hope for every child in our school system as we prepare them for success in the 21st century workplace.
